A PRIMARY school has given its playground a £10,000 facelift over the summer holidays.
Two Village Church of England Primary School, in Mayes Lane, Ramsey, secured a National Lottery grant in July.
It has put the money to good use over the six-week break, resurfacing two grass areas on the early years play area.
The four-colour surface is made from recycled, shredded tyres and will be softer for younger pupils to play on.
Tyres have also been incorporated in the new design, as extra climbing and seating facilities.
Alison Bentley, the school’s office manager, said: “The outdoors can now be used all year round without the risk of children becoming muddy and wet.”
The work was planned following an Ofsted inspection which highlighted the area as in need of improvement.
