A packed church of family and friends gathered to say their final farewell to teenager Jordan Bell.

About 200 relatives and classmates gathered at the Garrison Church in Homefield Road, Colchester, yesterday to celebrate her life.

The 14-year-old died on March 21 after she was involved in a collision with a car in Layer Road, Colchester.

The service began with the song Dreams by Gabrielle as the coffin was carried into church and was followed by the congregation singing All Things Bright and Beautiful.

A montage of pictures of Jordan's life were shown on an overhead projector while the congregation listened to James Blunt's Beautiful.

A poem entitled A Child Loaned was read by Jeff Dearness and then tributes were offered.

Fighting back tears, Jordan's dad, Steve, described the life of his only daughter.

"When she was born all our dreams came true, our prayers were answered," he said.

"She brought joy to all those she knew. She was always smiling, generous and knew no bounds.

"We have taken much comfort from knowing her life away from home was full of fun and school was a big social activity."
