Shoppers have been warned to be on their guard in Clacton town centre after a spate of thefts.
Bag-snatchers grabbed handbags from children's pushchairs in two separate incidents and pickpockets stole a man's wallet after they bumped into him.
PC Stacy Williams, of Clacton police, urged shoppers to keep a close eye on their belongings and not to leave their bags unattended on pushchairs. Anyone who notices suspicious behaviour should call police on 999.
