A toy library is being set up for children from Harwich to Manningtree.

Run by the Harwich Children's Centre Service, the library travels between towns and villages in a van delivering its service to children aged up to five years old.

Dawn Saunders, operational manager for north Tendring Children's Centre, said: "At the moment, we are running the service when we can but we need to find a unit to store the toys in.

"The idea is we travel round and children can play with the toys and then borrow them for a couple of weeks before returning them or swapping them for a new toy.

"We have been driving around trying to find a unit to store the toys somewhere between Harwich and Manningtree."

The centre has started new stay and play sessions at Mistley, which see parents bring their children along where they can spend time socialising with other children and interacting with each other.
