The heat generated by Colchester Rugby Club’s second-half performance at Stevenage brought a warm and rosy glow to coach Tim Grimsey.
A blazing display after the break saw Colchester score 32 unanswered points in a 25-minute period to ensure a 51-25 victory and some very welcome points in the London League division one north promotion race.
Grimsey said: “We were different class after half-time, we were more on fire than a furnace.
“I had an Indian restaurant on the phone after the game because we were hotter than one of their phals."
