Colchester Rugby Club’s under-tens Saints, Saracens and Ravens all faced sides from Hertford at Mill Road.
The Saracens were up against Hertford B and won the first game 3-0 with tries by William Kempster, Gil Frost and William Main, while the second game was won 3-2 by the visitors.
Saracens scorers were Gil Frost and Alex Lee, while Teddy Bartleet was back to his best with some try-saving tackles on the wing.
Colchester’s Saints were beaten 2-1 in a close game by Hertford A, with Harrison Bull on the scoresheet, before Josh Fouche scored in a 3-1 defeat.
The Ravens fared better against Hertford C, drawing 2-2 as Oscar Butcher and Asher Morton scored breakaway tries.
Hertford showed some excellent organisation and won the final game 4-1 with the Ravens’ try coming from Oliver Allen.
