Holmwood House School’s under-11s team fought their way through six gruelling matches in the South East Regional Rugby Tournament at Epsom College to win a place in the National Finals next month.
This will be the first time that the school’s under-11s team has got this far in the competition.
Despite not having played together for some weeks, excellent tackling skills and ceaseless attacking play by the players gave them the upper hand against fierce opposition.
Tough matches against The Beacon, Thomas’ Clapham, Milbourne Lodge and Barnardiston Hall were all hotly-contested, and the team gave everything to beat Chinthurst in their last match to gain their deserved place in the national finals.
