Colchester Rugby Club’s under-17s are looking to continue their impressive form this year when they face Shelford in the Eastern Counties Cup final at Mill Road on Sunday.

The game kicks off at 2pm) and after losing just two games this season, both of which came back in October, Colchester have high hopes for the game. Under-17s manager, Rod Craig, said: “The team have continued to make progress this season, having won the Suffolk Cup in the last two seasons and this is due to the hard work and team spirit of the whole squad.

“They have worked hard to improve their technical skills and fitness as well as growing in physical presence and commitment in attack and defence.”

Progress in the Eastern Counties Cup has been made through the pool stages with wins against Norwich and Holt, before a 53-0 defeat of Sudbury in the semi-final.

Prior to the game, Colchester’s Colts meet Sudbury in a pool round of the Eastern Counties Cup (kick-off 12.15pm).
