He may not be taking a long-range view, but Tim Grimsey is asking for “Telescope Rugby” from his Colchester players when they head to Old Colfeians.

Colchester head into the game on the back of one of their best results of the season in London League division one north as a 16-10 win against Chingford last weekend gave a significant boost to their promotion hopes.

However, they have often slipped up in games following strong results this season and coach Grimsey says he won’t allow that to happen this time.

Despite their good performance, he said he won’t let the players think about where they may be at the end of the season and will make sure they take it one game at a time.

He said: “We need Telescope Rugby this week – we just need to be really, really focused.

“We must be even more prepared than we were last week when we played Chingford.”

Colchester squad: Andy Le Chevalier, Tom Crozier, Gideon Kamya Lukodo, Elliott Castle, Liam Pickett, Ollie Pickett, Dan Whiteman, Ollie White, Jako Nel, Matt Adamson, Brett Cutbush, Chris Withers, Damien Brambley, Jon Vine, Jack Wiggins, Paul Summerson, Nick Flexman, Adam Cook.
