Colchester United haven’t stopped looking for new faces – but they have to be the right faces if they are to come to the Weston Homes Community Stadium.

Following the closure of the transfer window last week, the loan window reopened yesterday and the U’s assistant boss Joe Dunne has revealed that the club is still in the hunt for players to bolster their League One promotion push.

However, he admits it isn’t a simple case of going out and picking one off the shelf and anyone coming in will have to fit in with the philosophy of what manager John Ward is looking to achieve at the U’s.

Dunne said: “We are working on it, but it is about attracting the right players to the team.

“We have been out assessing targets this week, but while we have been doing that so has everyone else."
