It may look like an uphill task, but Ian Henderson insists Colchester United’s players will not be giving up on their goal of making the npower League One play-offs this year.

There were two contrasting performances this week from the U’s, but back-to-back defeats by Southampton and then Dagenham and Redbridge have left them a long way shy of the league’s top six places.

The results have left them ten points and four places below the sixth-placed team – tomorrow’s opponents at the Weston Homes Community Stadium, MK Dons.

But Henderson says the players won’t be daunted by the task ahead. He said: “When you look at the table you see that there are ten points to make up and you know it is an uphill task.

“But we’ll never lose the desire and determination to get up there."
