Colchester United played out an entertaining 1-1 draw with Peterborough United at London Road tonight.

George Boyd gave Posh a sixth-minute lead when he had time and space to lash home a left-foot shot from the edge of the area.

But the impressive Ian Henderson curled in an equaliser for the U's from a difficult angle, 11 minutes later.

Both sides had their chances after that, with both Colchester keeper Ben Williams and his Posh counterpart Joe Lewis making fine saves throughout.

David Mooney and Henderson both had chances to win the game for the U's in the second half, after racing through on goal.

But Williams denied League One's leading goalscorer Craig Mackail-Smith and substitute Andrew Bond headed Charlie Lee's effort off the line in stoppage-time, as Colchester claimed a deserved draw.
