John-Joe O’Toole will stake a claim to be part of Joe Dunne’s new-look Colchester United side today.

The midfielder will return from injury to play for the U’s in their home friendly against West Ham United.

O’Toole is one of a trio of senior outfield players who will turn out for Colchester’s development side against the Hammers (kick-off 1.30pm).

This sounds like a fantastic match to watch and shame most of us will be otherwise engaged. I would anticipate this would have ordinarily been a good gate.. hope for Jon Jo it goes really well. I am sure he will take the opportunity to shine. Up the U's!!
