Joe Dunne has outlined his vision to bring success to Colchester United .

And the U’s manager has urged his players to give everything for the club badge.

Dunne has been appointed as Colchester’s new manager on a one-year rolling contract.

He replaces John Ward, who was sacked as U’s boss on Monday.

Dunne has wasted no time in stamping his own mark on the role.

He has brought in former U’s favourite Mark Kinsella as his assistant.

And he has also bolstered his squad by signing three players on loan.

Jabo Ibehre has joined from League One rivals MK Dons on a three-month loan deal, while young Arsenal pair Craig Eastmond and Sanchez Watt have also signed.

Dunne takes charge of his first game as U’s boss tomorrow, looking to guide them to their first win of the season.

And ahead of Colchester’s home clash with Hartlepool United, he is vowed to give U’s fans a team they can be proud of.

Dunne said: “I’m very enthusiastic about the way I want to take the club forward and I have a clear vision of where I want the club to be.

“I expect my players to be brave about the way I want to do it.

“If they can’t do it at the moment don’t shout at them, shout at me.

“They will need your full support and when you come, I need you to support the team.

“I will promise that I will give you a team that will do their best for Colchester United.”

It will be a triple celebration for Kem
Izzet if he plays tomorrow because
if he plays he will become the U's fifth
all time greatest league appearance maker. It is also his 32nd birthday tomorrow and if he also leads the team to victory it will obviously be a third reason to celebrate. His appearance at Scunthorpe last Saturday was his 415th league
appearance for the U's,which equalled
the league appearances total of the
late John Fowler..
Kem Izzet is now set to play for his
seventh Colchester manager excluding
caretakers - Whitton,Parkinson,
Williams,Lambert,Boo
throyd,Ward
and Dunne -and it is difficult to
think of any other player who has worked for so many managers at
Colchester AND survived ,which is
perhaps a tribute to his temperament and character.
Mickey Cook, who holds the club record for most league appearances for the U's,played under five
managers,excluding caretakers :
Dick Graham,Jim Smith,Bobby
Roberts,Allan Hunter and Cyril Lea.

Lets hope he doesn't play. He's appalling! If he plays we won't win.

can't argue it's an impressive tally. Not his greatest fan but had a good game last weekend, but think he does better away from home in games were we are backs against the wall

Impressed with those words. Those are the words of a determined, passionate man who is saying quite clearly the buck stops with him. He is also making sure we know he values and wants our support but also that he wants to draw on the fans. Knowing the kind of guy Joe is his comments of "dont shout at them, shout at me" suggests he's putting himself on the line but I'm pretty sure there's two sides to this in the sense that he'll defend his players from criticism publicly but he'll let them have it if he takes flak because they're not putting in a shift. I'm really looking forward to this today. I'd take a gutsy, scrappy 1-0 quite happily but hopefully we'll give them a battering.

He is one of only a few in recent weeks that has put the effort in and never does shy away from a tackle. Very interesting stats RB. Well done.
