Transfer activity unlikely at U's ahead of deadline
1:11pm Thursday 30th August 2012 in Sport By Jonathan Waldron
No bids - Colchester United's star midfielder Anthony Wordsworth has not been the subject of any recent bids, according to boss John Ward.
Colchester United manager John Ward does not expect any ins or outs at the Weston Homes Community Stadium, ahead of the transfer window closing tomorrow night.
The U's boss, who signed Gavin Massey from Championship side Watford last week, is not expecting to sign any new players, before the deadline.
And he is not anticipating any of his players leaving the U's.
Ward said: “We signed Gavin Massey last week and I’m not one who goes right down to the wire, unless I’m forced into it.
“At the moment I’m not - we’ve got people available and a decent squad.
“I haven’t had an enquiry for either Anthony Wordsworth or Magnus Okuonghae - or any player really.
“The chance would have been in the summer.
“Magnus was out of contract but chose to stay at this football club and we received no offers for Anthony."
