Colchester United manager John Ward says his in-form players are thriving on their recent good run of form.
The U’s are unbeaten in six matches in League One, their best run without losing in the league since October, 2010.
Colchester’s impressive form will be put to the test on Saturday though, with promotion-chasing Huddersfield Town their opponents.
And with more difficult games to follow against play-off candidates Stevenage and Carlisle United, boss Ward is taking nothing for granted.
Ward said: “A football club thrives on doing well and getting good results.
“When we’ve had a good spell like we’ve had, I expect everyone to be in good shape and thinking positively.
“We have to maintain that because we’ve got an extremely tough game on Saturday and two more to follow in the league, against teams who are above us in the league.
“Training is repetitive but you have to make it interesting and lively for everyone.
“We’ve been fortunate enough to name the same side and keep people fit and well.
“Confidence comes from that and those guys wanting to stay there and keep their standards high.
“It’s nice to have your whole team playing well and it’s been hard over the last few games to pick a player who hasn’t been playing well.
“You enjoy it when it’s like that but as soon as you come off after one game, you think about the next one.”
