U's attacker Henderson hoping for special night
2:04pm Tuesday 13th March 2012 in Sport By Jonathan Waldron
In-form - Ian Henderson has helped Colchester United go on a five-match unbeaten run in League One.
Ian Henderson has revealed Colchester United’s players are keen to redress the balance when they host promotion-chasing Sheffield United tonight.
The U’s were comprehensively beaten 3-0 by the Blades at Bramall Lane, last September.
Colchester will have a chance to avenge that heavy defeat when they host Danny Wilson’s high-flying side at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.
And John Ward’s side will be hoping to extend their unbeaten run to six matches in League One by gaining another positive result.
Henderson said: “We’re all excited about tonight’s game and the form of the team has picked up massively over the last three games.
“Every game is exciting but when you play the so-called big teams in the league, it’s that bit more special.
“We owe them one for earlier in the season.
“I watched the Football League Show last Saturday and they mentioned that Colchester are a tough nut to crack.
“We still have hopes of getting into the play-off positions and you have to have hopes and aspirations to aim for.”
See Tuesday’s Gazette for a full preview of Colchester United’s clash with Sheffield United.
