Colchester United have decided against pursuing the signings of young Tottenham Hotspur duo Zaine Francis Angol and Olumide Durojaiye.

But the U’s have not ruled out the possibility of giving more Premier League youngsters the chance to shine, in the coming weeks.

Angol and Durojaiye both featured as trialists for Colchester reserves in their 1-0 defeat at Watford reserves, on Monday night.

It was the second time the teenagers have featured for Richard Hall’s second-string side, following their appearance against Southend United, last week.

But Colchester have confirmed that they will not be pursuing the Spurs duo any further.

And the U’s have also decided against bringing in fellow trialists Jonathan Birbeck of Leeds United and Fulham youngster Matthew Reece, who also played against the Shrimpers.
