Colchester United want to keep in-form winger Callum Harriott for longer.

Harriott, who is on loan at the U’s until January, has been in red-hot form since arriving from Charlton Athletic in August.

The 21-year-old, who is out of contract at the Valley at the end of the season, has been a revelation for Tony Humes’ side and has scored in each of his last three matches.

Harriott has also provided seven assists in the seven games he has played for Colchester, since joining them from the Addicks.

The winger’s excellent form has helped Colchester embark on a four-match winning run and boss Humes says he would like to keep him for longer.

Humes said: “Callum has scored three in three now - I’m delighted with him and with his performance.

“He’s a player we’d like to keep past January.

“I think he’s enjoying his football with us but we have to wait and see what happens when that loan expires.”
