Tosin Olufemi scored twice as Colchester United's under-21s beat their Charlton Athletic counterparts 2-1 to secure their third successive win in Professional Development League Two, at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.
Drey Wright tested the Charlton keeper early on while at the other end, a smart piece of defending from Jamie Harney denied Hanlan what looked destined to be a certain goal as the first half finished goal-less.
Colchester took the lead ten minutes after the break through Olufemi, who converted a cross at the far post.
And Olufemi grabbed his second of the game five minutes later when he beat his man before slamming home.
Harry Lennon pulled a goal back for Charlton with 15 minutes remaining but Jack Curtis went close for the hosts late on, as Colchester claimed another win.
