Alex Lynn drove from pole position to chequered flag for a maiden GP2 Series feature race win in Hungary.

The 21-year-old from Dunmow made sure that he converted his first-ever GP2 pole into a race win for the DAMS Racing team in scorching temperatures at the Hungaroring.

Lynn, who is also development driver for the Williams Martini Formula One team, showed he could handle the heat at the front of the pack and made his tyre strategy work brilliantly as he showed strong pace throughout the 37-lap race.

He had previously won the sprint race in round two in Barcelona, but this was Lynn’s debut victory in a main feature race.

And to make it an extra special finish, Williams F1 deputy team principle Claire Williams was waiting to offer her congratulations as Lynn continued to impress watching Formula One bosses.
