WIVENHOE TOWN made a great start to their pre-season friendly campaign, winning 3-0 at Earls Colne tonight.
Luke Goldie-McSorley, a triallist and Reece Keating scored the Dragons goals, who handed a debut to new signing Tom Austin.
“It went very well and was a good workout,” said manager Mo Osman.
Elsewhere, FC CLACTON also played their first friendly and lost 4-2 at Cornard United.
They scored the first and last goals of the evening, through Billy Wales and Kevin Coyle’s penalty.
BRIGHTLINGSEA REGENT suffered a 3-1 defeat at Long Melford, with their consolation being scored by Keiron Baker.
The pick of Saturday's games is Stanway Rovers against a Braintree Town XI.
Kick-off at The Hawthorns is 3pm.
