MSS Colchester Kawaski rider Jesse Trayler slipped down the Pirelli National Superstock 1000 Championship after being unable to race to the chequered flag in the latest round at Donington Park.

The Superstock 1000 event was held on the Donington Park GP circuit as one of the support races to the World Superbike Championship and Trayler was hoping to match his previous visit to the Leicestershire venue.

The racer from Great Dunmow had had a good result at Donington in April with a tenth-place finish and was hoping to be up in the top ten again. He placed his MSS Colchester Kawasaki ZX-10R 11th on the grid with a qualifying time of one minute 33 seconds and made a strong start to the 12-lap race.

Trayler was moving up the field and was swapping between seventh and eighth places with Dominic Usher, however, the ending didn’t go according to plan.

As the final laps were approaching, it was getting pretty rough as the duo jostled for position and on the final lap they had a coming together at the old hairpin, which forced them both into retirement.

Trayler is now seventh in the championship standings on 23 points, but will be in action again at Snetterton in Norfolk next month as the Superstock 1000 links up once more with the British Superbike Championship.
