BRIGHTLINGSEA Regent loanee Jake Gordon is being watched by two Football League clubs - and one is thought to be Colchester United.

The teenager has made a big impact since joining on loan from Conference South side Chelmsford City in February.

He has chipped in with three goals and won four man-of-the-match awards in his dozen appearances for the Ryman League side.

The most recent goal was a sublime free-kick in Saturday’s 4-2 division one north defeat at the hands of Cray Wanderers.

Now it has emerged that scouts from two professional teams - believed to be the U’s and Southend United - have been keeping tabs on his progress at North Road.

“I’ve got a couple of pro clubs looking at me at the moment,” said Gordon, who plundered more than 50 goals for Chelmsford’s academy.

“Hopefully something will come of it."
