NEW homes in the East of Scotland are selling steadily despite the

summer holidays, says John Brown of estate agents DTZ Debenham Thorpe,

who acts for several builders.

Applecross Homes has had an ''excellent response'' at its Thornyhall

Lea scheme in Dalkeith. Out of the 13 homes available, a total of 11

have been sold, including the showhome.

An Applecross development of 42 flats at Thirlstane Road in Edinburgh

has seen 10 reservations out of 18 flats in the first phase.

Prices start from #111,000 and the homes should be ready by November.

Applecross is planning a development at Braid Avenue, overlooking the

Braid Hills and with views north towards the Castle.

Acting for builders AMA, the estate agent is selling 16 flats near the

Pleasance, next to Queens Park, close to the centre of Edinburgh. Prices

start from #75,000. DTZ Debenham Thorpe is also marketing 30 new homes

being built by Muirfield Vilage Ltd in Gullane. Prices range from

#90,000 to #130,000.
