Rebels in Sierra Leone have executed 21 dissidents who tried to
overthrow the rebel leader, Foday Sankoh of the Revolutionary United
Front (RUF), a witness said yesterday.
Bockarie Sao, who fled rebel territory after the executions, said five
civilians and 16 RUF guerrillas were executed by firing squad.
