Witham Town gave their Ryman League premier division survival hopes a huge lift with a sloender win against Peacehaven and Telscombe at the Village Glass Stadium.
Having been disappointed to see two valuable points slip from their grasp as they were held by Bognor Regis Town to a 2-2 draw on Saturday, Witham were relieved to take all three points this time.
They went ahead in the the 20th minute as Chris Bryan fired home from the penalty spot and managed to hold on to that slim advantage until the final whistle.
Their win and results elsewhere mean that Witham are back clear of the premier division's relegation zone and have drawn themselves closer to the group of teams directly above them.
