Colchester United boss Tony Humes says he is contemplating bringing in a new forward to replace Rhys Healey, ahead of Thursday’s emergency loan deadline.
The U’s striker options have been diminished after Healey was recalled by parent club Cardiff City, last Thursday.
Humes said: “All the time you look ahead to next season in terms of potential players so we’re aware of who’s out there and available.
“We’ll look to see if it’s the right thing to do.
"But Macauley Bonne has played first-team football and has the experience.
“It’s something we have to weigh up over what sort of player we do look to bring in and whether it’s something different to what we have already.”
