Colchester United are considering whether to appeal the red card shown to Elliott Hewitt in the closing stages of their victory over Leyton Orient.
The Ipswich Town loanee was sent off for the second time in his career, following a foul on Romain Vincelot.
U's boss Tony Humes said: “Elliott definitely took the ball first but his foot was up, without a shadow of a doubt.
“The player played on so it wasn’t a horrendous tackle but according to the letter of the law, the referee has to make a decision.
“If that’s how he has seen it then that’s how he’s seen it and we’ll have a look at it and see if there’s anything in it.”
