Dan Holman has been challenged to come back and fight for his place at Colchester United.
The striker has returned to the Weston Homes Community Stadium this week, following his loan spell at Aldershot Town.
Holman has made 16 appearances for the Shots, scoring three times, since joining them last October.
And the Conference Premier side are keen to keep the former Braintree Town striker for longer if they can.
However, Holman has returned to training with Colchester.
And boss Tony Humes wants him to be vying with the likes of fellow strikers Freddie Sears and Rhys Healey for a place in his side.
Humes said: “It’s up to Dan to come back and show how he’s progressed.
“He’s got to be better than Freddie Sears to get himself into the team.
“And he’s got to perform ahead of Rhys Healey and Macauley Bonne - that’s Dan’s challenge.”
