IT proved a memorable day for both STANWAY ROVERS and WIVENHOE TOWN.
Both won 2-1 on their travels, in the Thurlow Nunn League.
Premier division high-fliers Rovers came from behind to beat Felixstowe and Walton, thanks to goals from Jake Clowsley and Jordan Palmer.
Wivenhoe, meanwhile, boosted their chances of avoiding the bottom three by winning at basement boys Ely.
The Dragons got off to the worst possible start after Lewis Blanchett was sent-off, but Charlie Goodlake netted from the penalty spot before Ben Parkin made it 2-0.
The struggling hosts pulled one back but were unable to snatch an equaliser.
Elsewhere, FC CLACTON crashed to a 6-0 defeat at Hadleigh United while Brantham Athletic were pipped 2-1 at Walsham-le-Willows.
In division one, HALSTEAD TOWN won 3-1 at Needham Market Reserves while BRAINTREE TOWN RESERVES lost 2-1 at Debenham LC.
