WIVENHOE TOWN boss Mo Osman says he and his players are gearing up for some crunch fixtures in early 2015.

The Dragons are third from bottom in the Thurlow Nunn League premier division, heading into tomorrow’s match at mid-table Whitton United.

However, they have some pivotal games in the next six weeks that could make or break their survival chances.

Among them are next weekend’s trip to second-from-bottom Ely, a home match against Walsham-le-Willows - two places and six points above them - on January 17 - and then a trip to basement boys Diss, on January 24.

The eye-catching matches continue next month when they host Haverhill Rovers, in 12th, before a crucial rearranged fixture at home to neighbours FC Clacton - 17th and only two points above the Dragons, albeit with three games in hand - on February 10.

“We’ve got a run of games against sides from the bottom half of the table,” said Osman, whose team also host high-flying Hadleigh United and Newmarket in the first two months of 2015.

“On our day, I know we’re capable of beating anyone in this division and it’s the results of those games that will decide our fate."

Tomorrow’s trip to Whitton United kicks-off at 2pm, while the 3pm matches include STANWAY ROVERS against Fakenham, FC CLACTON at home to Mildenhall and BRANTHAM ATHLETIC’S trip to Felixstowe & Walton.

In division one, HALSTEAD TOWN entertain Debenham LC and BRAINTREE TOWN RESERVES are at home to Haverhill Borough.
