STANWAY ROVERS assistant boss Danny Slatter is hoping his frustration turns to celebration today.
Angelo Harrop’s right-hand man is suspended for the club’s huge FA Vase third-round tie at St Margaretsbury.
He will be watching from the sidelines, rather than pulling strings in midfield, after picking up his fifth booking in the previous round, at Sun Sports.
Ironically, though, it was Slatter’s cool penalty that won the day on that occasion, teeing up this afternoon’s eagerly-awaited trip across the Hertfordshire border, to Stanstead Abbotts.
“It’s very frustrating to be missing the game,” said Slatter.
“Joss Neale, who’s been immense for us recently, is also suspended and it’s a shame both of us have to sit out such a big game.
“But the good thing about our squad this season is that there are other players ready and capable of stepping in."
