Chase Lane Primary School are celebrating after their girls’ footballers were crowned the best in Essex.
The Dovercourt youngsters took part in the Essex county girls’ football finals at Chelmsford City’s Melbourne Park.
It was a highly-competitive event, as 15 teams took part, flying the flag for the different districts of Essex.
Chase Lane’s girls, as current Tendring regional champions, represented the district after qualifying by winning last month’s regional finals in Clacton.
The girls went through the whole day undefeated, winning all their group games apart from one 0-0 draw with Moulsham Primary.
As group winners, this put them in the qualification final, where a nervous game saw them qualify by scoring the all-important winning goal in extra-time.
This win now puts the newly-crowned county champions into the southern national final play-off finals, to be held at Arsenal’s dome in Walthamstow in early February.
