STANWAY ROVERS booked their place in the second round of the FA Vase after a thrilling penalty shoot-out victory at Hertford Town.
The tie had finished 1-1 after extra-time, with Karl Fondop-Talun on target for Angelo Harrop's side.
Sadly it was not such a good day for WIVENHOE TOWN, who bowed out of the competition after losing 1-0 at Deeping Rangers.
Rovers, who had lost a shoot-out against Brightlingsea Regent, in the Essex Senior Cup, on Wednesday, now go into the last 128 of the competition, with the second-round draw due to take place on Monday lunchtime.
