ALI Carter has made a winning return to the snooker circuit.
The Colchester-born player beat Marco Fu at the invitational General Cup tournament, being played in Hong Kong.
The pair met in a Group B contest and Carter won 4-1, thanks to three breaks of 55.
Afterwards he tweeted: “All things considered a great start for me, beating a top player like Marco.
“Onwards and upwards.”
Carter, 35, was diagnosed with a form of lung cancer earlier this year.
He took a break from snooker to receive a course of intensive chemotherapy.
