Colchester Golf Club duo David Latta and Mike Sutton are hoping their vast experience will prove key at the Daily Mail Foursomes national finals.
They are one of 16 pairs competing at the event at Marriott Dalmahoy Golf Club, near Edinburgh, which starts on Monday.
After establishing themselves as Colchester GC qualifiers, they progressed through seven knockout rounds and beat Basildon 2&1 in the regional final, to book their place in the finals.
Sutton, who plays off a handicap of ten, says he would love to go all the way in the competition.
“I’m very proud for us to have got through and to represent Colchester in the finals,” said Sutton, who has played at Colchester for 40 years.
“But now we’ve got this far, I want us to go and try and win it. In the early weeks of the competition, we didn’t really think about how far we were going to go.
“But this is the biggest event that I will have played in.”
