WIVENHOE TOWN and STANWAY ROVERS shared the spoils from a 0-0 draw in tonight’s Thurlow Nunn League premier division contest at the Maple Tree Cars Stadium.

In a hard-fought and even contest, chances were at a premium as the rivals took a point apiece.

Wivenhoe went close when Hasan Ayten’s close-range header dropped on to the bar, from Mike Schofield’s corner.

Ayten also nodded over from another headed opportunity soon after.

Ben Parkin tested Rovers keeper Dan Beeson from distance and later headed just the wrong side of the near post, from a corner.

Stanway’s best efforts came from Craig Hughes, from a free-kick, Lee Cullen’s downward header and Jake Clowsley’s overhead kick – all well-saved by Dragons keeper Peter Haxell.
