Head coach Matthew Watson has left Kirby Tennis Club after being given an opportunity “too good to turn down”.
The 30-year-old has taken up a position at the Elena Baltacha Academy of Tennis, in Ipswich.
Watson had been at Kirby for 12 years and, in addition to his work at the club, also coached in schools and sports centres across Tendring.
“It was a really hard decision and not one I’ve taken lightly,” he said.
“The offer had been there for a while and I agonised over it, because I’ve always enjoyed my job and I’m proud of the way we’ve built Kirby up.
“But this is such a good opportunity for me and my family.
“In the end, it was too good to turn down."
