FRINTON Cricket Club are heading up to the Gibbs Denley East Anglian Premier League.

The coastal side sealed promotion after winning Saturday’s play-off at Cambridgeshire side Ramsey.

The Marshall Hatchick Two Counties Championship winners eventually triumphed by eight wickets.

After winning the toss and electing to field, Mervyn Westfield struck twice early on to leave the hosts reeling on six for two.

Ramsey recovered to 125 for four but then collapsed to 148 all out in the 44th over.

Frinton’s reply started badly after losing an early wicket.

But Craig Perrin hit 33, followed by an unbeaten 75 from Ben Foakes and 35 not out from Justin Greaves.

They finished on 150 for two, reaching their target in the 41st over.

See the Gazette later this week for full coverage, including interviews with Foakes and Greaves.
