Colchester United have signed striker Dan Holman from Braintree Town on a two-year deal.
The 24-year-old, who was top goalscorer at Cressing Road last season after scoring 13 goals for the Iron in the Conference Premier, had been training with League Two side Southend United last week.
But he has now elected to sign for Colchester and is Joe Dunne's fourth signing of the summer.
Holman, who scored 24 goals in 72 appearances for Braintree, joined the Iron from Histon in August 2012 and caught the eye with his performances for Alan Devonshire's side.
U's boss Dunne and assistant Mark Kinsella watched Holman play several times for Braintree.
And they have now brought him to the U's, where he will compete with the likes of Freddie Sears and Jabo Ibehre for a starting spot.
