BRIGHTLINGSEA REGENT, meanwhile, maintained their promotion push by coming from two-down to draw 2-2 at fourth-placed Gorleston.

The Seasiders were two-up at half-time against Kirkley, following an own goal and then a second from Tom Holdstock.

The visitors pulled one back midway through the second half but Glenn Eldridge’s side protected their lead and now look well-placed in 15th spot.

However, Phil Kelly volleyed one back before Ricky Griggs fired his side level on 75 minutes.

WIVENHOE TOWN stayed second from bottom after crashing to a 5-0 defeat at Godmanchester Rovers.

BRANTHAM ATHLETIC drew 3-3 at Diss.

HALSTEAD TOWN had got the ball rolling, in terms of the Easter programme, by drawing 2-2 at March on Good Friday.

It was a result that lifted them to third in the division one table, with two games to go – starting with this afternoon’s trip to Saffron Walden.
