Colchester United have booked their place in this season's Alliance League Cup area final.

The U's beat Watford 1-0 today to win their semi-final, thanks to midfielder Sammie Szmodics' goal.

Colchester will now play Portsmouth in the area final.

Meanwhile, Louis Dunne has been called up to the Republic of Ireland under-16 squad for their game against Holland next week.

Fifteen-year-old Dunne, the son of U’s first-team boss Joe, has stepped up to play for the U’s under-18 side this season.
