Colchester United were left frustrated after their Essex Senior Cup semi-final at Concord Rangers was controversial called off 15 minutes before kick-off.
The U's were ready to play the Beachboys at the Aspect Arena but referee Mr Bull deemed an area of the pitch unplayable and decided to postpone the fixture.
Colchester manager Joe Dunne, who wanted to play the likes of Jabo Ibehre, Gavin Massey and Freddie Sears in the tie, admitted he was "very disappointed" by the game being called off.
Dunne said: "It's especially disappointing for Concord, who were looking forward to hosting a game of this nature. "The area is only a small one and the rest of the pitch is playable but it's certainly soft there."
The tie is now likely to be played on a Thursday night later in the season, with Colchester due to play midweek fixtures in League One until at least early April.
