Dunne not ruling out transfer activity before window closes

Essex County Standard: Activity? U's boss Joe Dunne is refusing to rule out the prospect of further signings for the U's before the window closes tomorrow night. Activity? U's boss Joe Dunne is refusing to rule out the prospect of further signings for the U's before the window closes tomorrow night.

Joe Dunne has not ruled out the possibility of adding to his Colchester United squad before the transfer window closes tomorrow night.

The U’s boss is happy with his in-form squad, with Sam Walker, Alex Gilbey and Dominic Vose all having penned longer contracts earlier this month.

Teenage centre-back Alie Sesay has also been drafted on loan from Leicester City, to bolster Colchester’s ranks.

However, Everton’s decision to recall Luke Garbutt has left Colchester short of left-sided options.

Ryan Dickson is likely to come into the side in place of Garbutt and the U's also have Tosin Olufemi as cover.

But Dunne might still be tempted to add to his squad, before the window slams shut.

According to the East Anglian Daily Times the Posh game is extremely unlikely to go ahead. After an inspection today Posh have intimated that Saturday's game is unlikely as the ground is already saturated and waterlogged. With a further deluge expected, they are looking to have an early official inspection tomorrow.

Cheers baz, shame another week and the good mood in training camp will start to loosen. Also for us fans think we would take 700 + Saturday if it is a Tuesday think it will be nearer 200. Fingers crossed they can get it on. Although not sure if the posh are that bothered.

Yes, I know what you mean angryman about the team's momentum being interrupted. Also Lee Timlin, the one who really makes posh tick is suspended for being sent off in the last game. No doubt he'll be back by the time we play them if the game does, as expected, bite the dust.

This report is totally the opposite to what has been reported in the EADT. When is the Gazette going to become a local Colchester paper once again. At the moment they are buried in the heart of Essex, out of touch with Colchester that their reports are based on 'history' and full of other Essex communities Colchester folk don't need or want to know about.

Seems now there will be no pitch inspection at Posh until tomorrow morning. Wish they would make up their minds!
