Sanchez Watt is set to join his Colchester United team-mates on their coach trip to face Oldham Athletic this weekend.
The U’s midfielder, who joined from Arsenal last summer, has endured a torrid time this season as thigh injuries have curtailed his involvement, with his last run-out coming against Leyton Orient at the end of August.
Just as he thought he was coming back from the initial injury, Watt broke down again in training in October, but he is set to be involved again now and boss Joe Dunne said that is a big boost.
Dunne said: “The fact that we have got him back into the squad is a bonus.
“He’ll be travelling with us barring any mishaps between now and Saturday, so that’s a positive for the team because he is a real character."
See tomorrow's Gazette for full reaction to Sanchez Watt's comeback and previews of the U's game at Oldham Athletic.
