Dominic Vose's performance on his first league start for Colchester United left a good impression on boss Joe Dunne.

The former West Ham United youngster, who signed for the U's on a monthly contract earlier this month, helped his new club record a 3-1 win over MK Dons, at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.

Vose, 20, also made an impact as a substitute in Colchester's 1-1 draw at Preston North End last weekend, providing the assist for Luke Garbutt's equaliser.

And U's boss Dunne said he was delighted with the former Barnet player's contribution against the Dons.

Dunne said: “I was very pleased with Dominic.

“We put him in the team to be a ball carrier and we’ve missed that, in terms of our wide players being missing.

“We got 70 minutes from him and he’ll be better for that - he’s another player for the future."
