Colchester United beat MK Dons 3-1 to claim a deserved victory at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.

Goals from Craig Eastmond and Jabo Ibehre set the U's on their way to victory, before half-time.

And although Jordan Spence gave the Dons hope with a header just after the break, Macauley Bonne came off the bench to score a superb third for Joe Dunne's side to seal their win.

What a superb result. Now that we have seen the back of a run of games against potential league winners including Peterborough and Preston, we have a easier December.

Well done super U's,

Good result, but also good performance. A bit more confidence on front of goal would have been a thrashing. Fingers crossed for Saturday. Hopefully if we have a little run we can start attracting fans. However if people keep singing west life songs then I might not bother going. It's not ironic or Qwirky it's just sad.

Great win, good run for the christmas period (Notts, Stevenage, Oldham, Tranmere, Crewe) all teams down there and so need to be winning at least 2 of those

3-1 *.*

Well it’s taken twenty-one matches, but we’ve finally managed a half decent performance this season! Let’s just hope the next one comes around a little sooner. Another landmark scoring three goals in a game, even if the second was a gift, wonders will never cease. It’s also great to finally beat the ghastly Franchise after so many embarrassing results against them!

Let’s not get too carried away though as MK Dons are pale imitation of the sides we’ve been tormented by in previous seasons; I really can’t see them finishing anywhere near the top ten this season based on that showing. One swallow does not make a summer, whilst I hope we can build on this pleasing win, our fundamental defensive weaknesses and inability to convert chances remains a significant handicap to further progress.

A superb win and result against one of our recent bogey sides, although I would have to say they didn't look anywhere near the MK Dons of previous years. In fact I thought we put on our most committed display for some considerable time. Well done JD and the lads.

Don't forget one swallow doesn't make a summer, but with similar commitment it is not impossible to gain more wins and therefore attract the would be fans back to the stadium. Tonight's attendance was the lowest I believe this season. However, I'm sure the Champions league games on television had some bearing on this..

I wouldn't say that was the first decent game. We were really good against Bradford, and have done ok generally away it's just the poor the home form. We should get a good crowd around the Xmas fixtures or critical we put in a good performance. And yes it's great to beat the franchise, lovely to see their plastic "fans" traipse off

Who saw that score coming.
MK Dons have for so many years been a bogey team for us, but on that display they look like they are going to struggle this year. The fact that we managed to score more than one goal in a game was good, plus overall the team and especially the midfield looked confident and assured.
Happy for Jabo to score as he works so hard for the team, hopefully he can kick on and score us a few more this season. Excellent result.
