U's defender Dickson on the road to recovery
Colchester United will allow left-back Ryan Dickson more recovery time following the illness that has kept him sidelined over recent games.
The former Southampton defender has missed the U's last three games due to a mystery virus which has hindered him this season.
Dickson has undergone tests in a bid to determine the nature of the problem and has received the all-clear.
But the U's will still allow the full-back, who joined them on a free transfer this summer, more time to recover.
U's boss Joe Dunne said: “We’ve had good positive results on Ryan Dickson.
“He’s on recovery leave.
“We’ve had further tests done which have come back clear and we're just giving him further recovery time now to recoup now."
Tom Eastman is making good progress following the ankle injury he sustained in training and the likes of Gavin Massey, Tosin Olufemi and Conor Hubble could all return to training this week.
But Josh Thompson's ankle problem is not responding to treatment and Dunne has also confirmed that winger Drey Wright may be out long term with a knee injury.
Dunne added: “Drey has an injury that needs looking at and I don’t think that it’s short term."
