Injury waiting game for Braintree Town
12:00am Saturday 14th September 2013 in Sport
BRAINTREE Town are having to play a waiting game to find out the full extent of striker Dan Holman’s shoulder injury.
The Iron front man missed last weekend’s 1-1 draw with Forest Green Rovers and boss Alan Devonshire said he is likely to be out for today’s Skrill Premier trip to Grimsby Town.
However, it is unclear at the moment how long exactly they will have to do without Holman.
Devonshire said his striker was due to have a scan on his shoulder yesterday, but they won’t find out the results until next week and he may have to dip into the loan market to bolster his squad if he is going to be missing for a lengthy spell.
“Dan’s still out with the shoulder injury and we’re not sure how long he’ll be out,” said Devonshire.
“He has had a scan this week. But we won’t know the results of that until Monday and we’ll have to wait until then before we decide what we need to do.
“I’m still thinking of loans, but we have to wait to see the outcome of Dan’s scan.
“I want to get Saturday out of the way first and then we’ll have a look at the results.”
Dean Wells will also be missing for Saturday’s trip to the Mariners as he completes his three-match suspension for a sending-off against Barnet.
